Addressing the Rise of Healthcare Consumerism Through Technology

A new healthcare market structure is emerging in which the consumer plays a much more pivotal role in the business of healthcare – with more payment responsibility, a more discerning view of providers and a greater need for education.  In this new market, providers will be challenged to offer more information to both patients and consumers and to assist in proactively managing their health.

To accomplish this objective, Mt. San Rafael expanded their reach beyond the four-walls of their hospital and by leveraging the YourCareEverywhere health engagement platform with MEDHOST’s patient platform to build meaningful, relevant interactions with the consumers and patients in their market.

During the session, you will learn how this hospital has been using healthcare content and wellness tools, communication campaigns and patient portal retention programs to activate consumers in their community and reinvigorate their patient-base using technology, all while driving a 40 percent lift in patient portal usage.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe how a powerful combination of content, wellness tools, mobile apps and health records can engage the newly empowered healthcare consumer on a continuous basis.
  • Accelerate your digital strategy – web and mobile – to create value and growth opportunities with consumers and patients online.
  • Leverage new ways to drive patient engagement and achieve the latest Meaningful Use objectives.
